Survival Hunting

The longer the emergency situation the more critical this will become to you and your family to feed yourselves.  Is there wildlife around your house?  If you live in a rural area this is probably more of an option for you than someone who lives in the city. If there are a lot of deer around you or any sort of wild life it might make sense to get a gun in addition to stocking up a small emergency food supply.  If you have a gun this will also help you will protection which unfortunately you also might have to worry about. (Remember there are those who won’t be prepared and will be desperate or those who will try and take advantage of those who are down on their luck.)  Please keep in mind that animals are harder to find certain times of year so make sure you have thought about these times too.

There are several ways to hunt and not all of them require using a gun.   There are some hunting tools you can use that don’t require ammo or the ammo is reusable.  If you are in a situation where you worry about running out of ammo or are in a place when it might be a bad idea to fire a weapon there are other options.  You can use Bows, Blowguns, Crossbows, and even Slingshots.  (There are probably more deadly hunting items at the happy ninja that I didn’t mention….sorry about the plug but I love this store.)
