Intro to Boy Scouts of America - A Great Intro to Survival Skills for Kids

Boy Scouts of America is a great way to introduce many of the most basic survival skills to your boys.  There has been a lot of news surrounding the Boy Scouts and their organization as of late and regardless of what you think about the politics, Boy Scouts teaches young men not only some of the most basic survival skills but also teaches respect for the environment, the community, our country and each other. Not only does it help reinforce the foundation of becoming a well rounded young man but it also help learn about leadership, teamwork, maintaining a healthy diet and how to maintain a certain physical fitness level.

I had been reading about how useful a Boy Scout handbook was so I decided to order one and while I never made it past Cub Scouts I always remember how much fun I had. I can't remember my hand book so i decided it was time to reorder one.  I got it today and I can't think of a better way to get boys interested in wilderness, their environment and get them off their butts and away from the T.V. or computer.  There are several different versions, this is the Boy Scout Handbook I got and I really like because it has the rings instead of your standard book binding. Boy Scout Handbook (The Centennial Edition) I figure if you are going to be taking it into the wilderness and using it as a guidebook then the more durable the better.

Below is a short video about 100 years of Boy Scouts...
